Early Spring Mail Orders Are Now Open

We have made a selection of our plants available and in stock on the web site for early Spring mail orders.

For now available plants are limited primarily to most of our Temperate Water lily range, a selection of our miscellaneous plants and just the very earliest of our lotus varieties.

More lotus varieties, other plants and later tropical lilies will be made available on the site as the season progresses.

As usual orders will be sent out on Mondays for the best mailing times, and we will be sending out the first batch of mail orders on Monday August the 8th.

Lotus Mail Order Season Is Here

We have made many of our varieties of lotus available for mail order on the web site as they are now ready to be mailed out and planted for Spring.

Lotus mail order season is relatively short and some time in late Spring or early Summer plants will become too large to send in the post, and now is the prime season to start them anyway. Also we have relatively limited stocks available of some varieties. So if you are after lotus we recommend you place your orders while stocks last.

For customers visiting the watergardens Lotus is not yet available as an advanced potted retail plant at the nursery but should be ready in a month or two.

Early Spring Mail Orders Now Open

It’s early Spring and we have re-opened mail orders on the web site for a range of early water plants including a selection of Louisiana Water Iris.

In the next month or so Temperate Water Lilies and Lotus will also be made available. In the mean time a small selection of Lotus will be available as part of a Pre-Season Lotus Sale.

Customers in cooler regions may wish to wait a few extra weeks before ordering plants for best results, if you are uncertain about the suitability of a plant to your local climate you can contact us.

Tropical Water Lilies

The first run of tropical water lilies are now available for mail order. They will be available until the Christmas mail order break and will be available again, possible with additional later tropical varieties after the break ends around new year.

Meanwhile our lotus mail orders are starting to be turned off. Many larger lotus varieties are now too large to post, smaller, later and hardier varieties are on for an extra week or so, but are likely to turned off shortly. So if you want mail order lotus you should order soon. They will not be turning back on in the new year and will remain unavailable for mail order until next season. However Lotus will of course still be available retail at our nursery as advanced and flowering plants in 33cm flower buckets.

Mail orders closing for Winter

It is currently the time of year that we are deactivating most of our mail order plants, especially all lilies and lotus, for the winter season during which they are dormant and unlikely to survive travel in the post.

Some plants like water irises and various native water plants are winter hardy and will remain available for purchase.

The deactivated plants will become available again as they become ready, starting with temperate lilies and early water plants in Spring.
